At least one person was killed and others injured in an active shooting and standoff in Midland, Texas, that ended with the suspected shooter also dead, authorities said on June 12.

On Wednesday, a 45-year-old gunman opened fire on police in Midland, Texas, allegedly refusing to surrender to police.

The contained gunman is in a standoff with police, who confirm officers heard gunshots from inside a building.
